Business Development Director – Global Tech Events
Senior Leadership | £15m Revenue Ownership | Uncapped Bonus
Our client is a rapidly scaling, international tech events business at a defining moment of growth. They are hiring two Business Development Directors - one focused on Europe & Asia, the other on the Americas - to help drive the next phase of global expansion.
These are senior, business-critical roles, reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer, with full ownership of a £15m revenue portfolio each. You’ll work across market-leading event brands, with the autonomy and influence to shape commercial strategy at scale.

The role
Senior commercial leadership position in a high-growth, international events company
- Direct report to the Chief Commercial Officer
- Ownership of a £15m+ portfolio
- Significant influence over commercial strategy, growth, and market expansion

What we’re looking for
We’re seeking proven commercial leaders who are:
- Structured, analytical, and KPI-obsessed
- Comfortable operating at pace in fast-moving, high-expectation environments
- Expert users of Salesforce - not just for reporting, but as a core performance-driving tool
- Experienced in building, scaling, and motivating high-performing sales teams
You will need to:
- Lead a team of 7–8 (Business Development, Account, and Sponsorship Managers)
- Have recent experience of large scale content-led events
- Own and grow your own book of business, while taking over key strategic accounts
- Drive new business and pipeline growth with real-time insights
- Sell a blend of event sponsorship and digital media solutions (interviews, white papers, amplification packages)
- Set and manage targets/KPIs with analytical precision
- Be an expert in Salesforce and coach your team to become Salesforce power users

- Energised by growth, new markets, and scaling revenue streams
- Passionate about pushing into new sectors and segments

Salary: highly competitive base plus generous bonus / uncapped earning potential

Hybrid working: 2 days a week in the office
