This is a fabulous opportunity for a driven BD Executive looking for a step up or an existing BD manager wanting to build a business development function for a top-tier Patent and Trade Mark firm.
Our client is a renowned name in intellectual property law. They have been established for over 100 years and are consistently rated a Leading Firm in Chambers and Legal 500.
They have an established marketing department but until now they haven't had an individual to take a lead on business development. This is the perfect opportunity to join the firm and establish a BD function. You will be the decision maker with regard to processes and systems and you will be wholly responsible for generating leads for their fee earners.
Role Description
This is a full-time or part-time hybrid role for a Business Development Manager, based in either Manchester or Birmingham, with a lot of flexibility for work-from-home arrangements. The role involves building and maintaining client relationships within the IP industry, identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, and fostering long-term partnerships. The Business Development Manager will develop and implement sales strategies, negotiate contracts, and ensure excellent client satisfaction while collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve business goals.
Qualifications
- Experience in the Intellectual Property profession is highly desirable but we also see applications from those that have worked in a law firm environment.
- Proven expertise in business development, client relationship management, and sales strategy
- Effective communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Strong networking and interpersonal skills to engage with clients and stakeholders
- Ability to analyze market trends and identify new business opportunities
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (desirable)
- Proficiency in using CRM software and other business development tools
