Country House Weddings is a long‑established, family‑run business with a collection of beautiful exclusive‑use wedding venues across the UK. After years of helping couples celebrate unforgettable moments, we’re excited to grow into a new chapter. Building on everything we do so well, we’re now expanding into private and corporate events through our new venture, Country House Events.
Role Overview
We are looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Business Development Manager to drive this new venture forward. This role focuses on generating business from a range of Private Hire & Events outside of the wedding sector ‑ such as away days, strategy events, private celebrations, ticketed events, team‑building days, and shoot hires.
Salary: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per annum (DOE) with competitive performance-based commission structure
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
• Lead the development of private and corporate event sales across our exclusive use venues.
• Proactively source and convert new leads through outreach, networking and targeted sales campaigns.
• Develop tailored proposals that showcase our venues and meet client needs.
• Achieve and exceed revenue targets through structured pipeline management.
Client Relationship Management
• Build long‑lasting relationships with corporate clients, event planners and agencies as well as private hosts.
• Conduct discovery calls, lead venue tours and manage client communication through to contract stage.
• Provide exceptional customer care to drive repeat business and referrals
Marketing & Campaign Activation
• Collaborate with the marketing team to activate campaigns tailored to corporate and private event audiences
• Support content creation by sharing insights into what resonates with corporate clients.
• Assist with copywriting and contribute to the development and implementation of social media and email marketing campaigns for this venture.
Cross‑Team Collaboration
• Work closely with venue and operations teams to ensure smooth handovers and exceptional event delivery.
• Support the wedding sales team during open days and viewings including occasional weekends.
Reporting & Commercial Insight
• Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts and reporting.
• Track competitor activity and corporate market trends to identify growth opportunities.
Candidate Profile
Essential
• Proven sales experience within events, hospitality, corporate hire or B2B
services
• Confident in outbound sales activity, proactive prospecting, and building a pipeline from scratch.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Highly self‑motivated, organised and commercially minded.
Desirable
• Experience selling corporate away days or exclusive‑use venue hire.
• CRM experience and an understanding of sales performance metrics.
• An existing network of potential corporate customers to develop
