Overview
We are a friendly, medium-sized contractor delivering turnkey services across Mechanical, Electrical, Fabric, and Fire disciplines within the FM and Construction sectors.
We are currently seeking an experienced and driven Business Development Manager to join our Fleet office.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the companys future growth and success, while also offering excellent prospects for personal development. In this role, you will work directly with our Senior Management Team (SMT) and collaborate with a highly motivated team that prides itself on strong core values.
We are looking for a candidate with a proven track record of building and maintaining strong client relationships, ideally within the FM or construction sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Identify market opportunities aligned with business objectives
Represent the business within designated geographical areas/sectors and attend client surveys
Attend and manage industry and networking events
Work closely with the SMT and internal teams
Grow and maintain a strong client base and supply chain network
Identify, secure, and develop key account customers
Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline
Support marketing initiatives and contribute to business development content
Develop and implement forward-thinking sales strategies to drive profitable growth
Gather customer feedback and market intelligence to support service development
Contribute to continuous improvement of business systems and infrastructure
Requirements
Proven experience as a Business Development Manager or similar role (e.g., Key Account Manager)
Minimum 6 years experience in Construction or FM-based sales (essential)
Strong understanding of construction processes, methods, and materials
Demonstrated ability to build long-term customer relationships that generate growth
Confident presenting company services at all levels
Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Excellent numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Full UK Driving Licence (required)
Fluent English (required)
Right to work in the United Kingdom (required)
Willingness to travel (up to 75%)
Location Requirement
Candidates must be able to reliably commute to Fleet (GU51) or plan to relocate prior to starting.
