The Opportunity
We’re seeking a Business Development Manager – Defence Nuclear to lead sales, growth strategy, and key account management across our Defence Nuclear portfolio. This includes new infrastructure, site modernisation, upgrades, and operational support programmes.
This role is central to expanding Capula’s presence in emerging defence nuclear opportunities — including submarine programmes, defence estate modernisation, and government‑aligned infrastructure projects.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Drive sales and business development across the Defence Nuclear segment, achieving growth targets and maximising gross margin.
- Represent Capula across the defence nuclear ecosystem, building strong relationships with MOD, defence organisations, prime contractors, and senior programme stakeholders.
- Develop and own a clear growth strategy, identifying programme pipelines, procurement pathways, and priority clients.
- Produce detailed opportunity plans aligned with Capula’s Business Strategy, providing intelligence to senior leaders.
- Collaborate across Capula, EDF, and Dalkia to leverage group synergies and maximise value.
- Support world‑class business development through continuous improvement of the Sales & Marketing Business Plan.
- Lead effective bid governance and support resource planning, risk management, and best‑practice delivery.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong Business Development, Sales, and Key Account Management experience in highly regulated, technical industries (Defence, Defence Nuclear, Civil Nuclear, CNI).
- Proven track record of delivering growth strategies and sales plans in secure or government‑regulated sectors.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels, including MOD and senior defence stakeholders.
- Excellent commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and customer‑focused mindset.
- Confident communicator able to present to senior internal and external stakeholders, including board level.
- Ability to close sales in complex, multi‑layered procurement environments.
- Eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC), with potential to progress to DV.
Desirable
- Experience with PLC/SCADA/DCS/Telemetry systems or digitalisation technologies.
- Experience working with defence clients.
- Understanding of defence procurement frameworks, internal networks, and political dynamics.
