The Opportunity
We're hiring for a well-established, highly regarded sub-contract manufacturer with an exceptional reputation for quality specialising in laser cutting, CNC forming and bending, welding and fabrication across a broad range of industry sectors. Operating from a modern, well-invested manufacturing facility, we're growing and looking for a commercially driven Business Development Manager to help us take the next step.
This is a genuine new business and account development role with real scope. You'll cover the UK, working closely with the General Manager and operations team, building relationships across existing accounts while actively hunting for new opportunities in sectors we already serve and others we haven't yet reached.
What You'll Be Doing
Managing and growing a portfolio of existing customer accounts while proactively developing new business opportunities across the UK
Conducting market research and building a robust commercial strategy to identify and target the right opportunities
Visiting customers regularly daily, weekly and monthly maintaining a well-structured call register and staying close to short, medium and long-term opportunities
Assisting in the production of technical quotations and supply proposals
Demonstrating the technical capability and commercial advantages of our services to potential customers
Maintaining accurate records across CRM and ERP systems, ensuring full compliance with reporting and business processes
Expanding our UK sales territory into new industry sectors and identifying emerging opportunities
What We're Looking For
Proven experience in business development or sales within a sub-contract engineering, sheet metal fabrication or precision manufacturing environment
A strong track record of winning new business and managing key accounts you're comfortable both hunting and farming
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build lasting relationships and deliver compelling presentations
Proficient with CRM software and Microsoft Office
Happy to travel UK-wide as required to meet clients and attend industry events
