Join a vibrant cultural and heritage destination as Commercial Event Sales and Business Development Manager in Gunnersbury Park, West London.
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded sales professional to drive event and venue hire income across a diverse and high profile estate. You will lead the sales strategy for weddings, corporate events, private parties, filming and venue hire while building strong relationships with clients, partners and stakeholders. Working closely with internal teams, you will play a key role in developing new revenue streams, raising the profile of the venue and delivering exceptional event experiences that support charitable aims.
Key responsibilities include:
Sales and marketing
• Drive venue hire and event sales across weddings, corporate events, private parties, room hire and photo shoots to maximise revenue and exceed targets
• Develop and refine the events portfolio including venue hire and catering packages through market research and competitor benchmarking
• Set and monitor KPIs, manage enquiries and proactively convert leads while building and developing key accounts
• Meet with prospective clients to conduct venue show rounds and create tailored proposals that meet their needs
• Lead marketing activity for the venue and event spaces including exhibitions, familiarisation trips, campaign reporting and content for digital platforms
• Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to encourage repeat bookings and long term partnerships
Business development
• Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy for the venue hire portfolio
• Identify and secure new revenue opportunities including corporate partnerships and sponsorships
• Analyse commercial performance and return on investment to inform future growth
• Explore new business opportunities and contribute to business modelling for future initiatives
Organisational and administrative
• Maintain accurate records within the venue booking system and CRM while ensuring GDPR compliance
• Prepare and issue client contracts and ensure documentation is completed ahead of events
• Prepare reports and provide updates to senior leadership as required
• Proactively seek opportunities to upsell venue hire and event packages
• Support administration relating to outdoor events and wider commercial activities
• Deputise for the Head of Commercial when required
Financial responsibilities
• Support the development of the annual commercial budget
• Manage event sales budgets, forecasts and financial reporting to maximise income and control costs
• Maintain accurate financial records for services delivered and commercial activity
• Ensure invoices, purchase orders and financial documentation are processed accurately and on time
• Review supplier pricing to ensure best value and prepare event quotations including external equipment hire
What we're looking for:
You will bring strong commercial events experience and a natural talent for building relationships that convert into successful bookings. With at least three years of experience managing events such as weddings, corporate functions and private celebrations, you are confident in achieving sales targets, developing new business and managing key accounts.
You are highly organised and commercially astute, comfortable working with CRMs, analysing data and producing reports that inform strategy. A skilled communicator and negotiator, you thrive on networking, presenting venues to prospective clients and creating tailored proposals that win business.
You are also an inspiring team player and experienced people manager who can motivate others to deliver outstanding results. With excellent attention to detail, strong Microsoft 365 skills and a flexible approach to working hours, you are excited by the opportunity to contribute to a thriving visitor destination and support a charitable mission.
