The business manages a substantial portfolio of residential units across Central London, working with a wide range of clients including developers, freeholders, Resident Management Companies (RMCs), Right-to-Manage Companies (RTMs), landed estates, and private investors.The company operates with dedicated teams consisting of a Property Manager, Property Assistant, and Client Accountant, ensuring a professional, responsive, and transparent service offering. With a strong market presence and commitment to high standards, the business provides an excellent platform for growth within a competitive sector.Role PurposeAs Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in driving company growth by identifying, engaging, and converting new clients, while strengthening market presence and building strategic relationships within the block management sector.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Growth & Sales Develop and implement targeted business development strategies to secure new block management instructions. Identify and pursue opportunities across London and surrounding areas to grow the managed portfolio. Build, manage, and convert a strong sales pipeline from lead generation through to close. Collaborate with internal teams to tailor proposals and commercial terms to client requirements. Client Relationship Management Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers including RMC directors, freeholders, and property investors. Present services clearly and professionally in meetings, pitches, and proposals. Support client retention and referrals through smooth handovers to operational teams. Market Intelligence & Reporting Monitor competitor activity, industry trends, and market opportunities to inform strategy. Track and report performance against targets using CRM systems and internal reporting tools. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with operations, finance, and service delivery teams to ensure alignment between sales and delivery. Represent the business at networking events, industry forums, and professional meetings. Person SpecificationExperience & Skills Proven experience within block management with exposure to business development. Strong understanding of leasehold management, RMC/RTM structures, and service charge environments is advantageous. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders. Commercially minded with strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities. Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office. Attributes Self-motivated, target-driven, and resilient. Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with wider teams. Strong networking skills and professional presence. Highly organised with good problem-solving ability.
