PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Join Spark, the BBC’s trusted Business Improvement team where you will play a key role in driving change and improvement across all divisions—unlocking value, reducing waste, and focusing teams on what matters most. Be part of a mission that helps to deliver creative excellence and builds lasting change.

WHY JOIN THE TEAM?

We are a close-knit, collaborative team that thrives on solving problems together. We support each other, challenge ideas constructively, and celebrate shared success. You’ll work alongside an experienced Head of Change to support major change initiatives and develop best practice. It's an opportunity to make a real impact while growing professionally in a culture that values trust, openness, and teamwork. It’s a place where your voice matters and your contributions count, and where you will get to work with colleagues from all disciplines across the organisation.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT

This role is positioned within the BBC’s Continuous Improvement team and will be dedicated to supporting the Head of Change. It is ideally suited to seasoned Change Managers with a passion for improvement, or Improvement experts with experience in change management.
1. Support the Head of Change in advancing change maturity across the BBC, applying continuous improvement principles to build organisational capability and readiness for change.
2. Use data-driven analysis and insight to identify opportunities for improving change practices, diagnose organisational challenges, and develop evidence-based recommendations that support strategic transformation.
3. Collaborate with stakeholders across major change programmes to review and enhance processes, ensuring they are efficient, future-ready, and aligned with the BBC’s change management standards.
4. Act as a change leader, guiding teams through the full change lifecycle—from opportunity identification and solution design to implementation, embedding, and benefits realisation.
5. Champion a culture of continuous improvement and change agility, engaging teams across the BBC to adopt new ways of working and build sustainable change capabilities.
6. Design and facilitate workshops and interventions that support change maturity, including sessions on problem-solving, process improvement, change impact assessment, and performance measurement.
7. Independently structure, analyse, and synthesise complex information, producing clear, actionable insights and recommendations with minimal supervision.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
You will need a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong interpersonal skills
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
1. Change Management experience gained as working as a change lead in a project or developing organisation change plans
2. Ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and communicate effectively (written, verbal, visual).
3. Understanding of organizational strategy and dynamics
4. Expertise in Microsoft tools (powerpoint, excel, power BI)
5. Creative problem solving and facilitation

DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
1. Experience of working in a Media Environment (TV, Radio, Digital)
2. Experience of working in Public Service
3. Experience of lean continuous improvement
4. Experience and passion for using AI for driving improvement

If you can bring some of these skills and experience, along with transferable strengths, we’d love to hear from you and encourage you to apply.
