Job Title: Business Support Team Leader – Older People Starting Salary: £42,839 (opportunity to progress to £47,181 per annum, pro rata for part time) Hours: 37.0 Location: Hemel Hempstead Contract Type: Permanent Directorate: Resources About the Team Our Business Support Service is a centralised unit which has been formed to deliver a coordinated, consistent and high‑quality service supporting service delivery across the organisation. It is critical to ensuring our departments can support services to our residents and will be part of a team of more than 400 colleagues supporting our departments to deliver critical services to the residents of Hertfordshire. About the Role South West Herts Older People and Sensory Services The Team Leader will:
Be responsible for overseeing delivery of business support functions to services within the ACS Spoke Line‑manage 3 Business Support Supervisors responsible for 8 business support staff Set longer‑term work priorities within the Older People’s service Plan and align support to all services, maintaining management responsibilities, setting standards and ways of working to drive consistency of approach and offer Challenge existing practices, champion change and act as a role‑model for managers and staff Plan projects to deliver results across a range of sectors Be responsible for the management of diverse workloads, with multiple deadlines and customers Manage use of complex systems and processes and coach others to use them for best results Drive efficiencies and best practice in terms of AI and automation of processes
About You Essential
Typically, degree qualified (or vocational equivalent) with several years’ experience in a similar role or significant vocational experience, demonstrating development through involvement in a series of progressively more demanding relevant roles Previous line‑management experience Extensive experience of working in an administrative or support role, with strong knowledge of business support activities Previous ability to ensure deadlines are met with high accuracy in written correspondence Excellent organisational and multitasking skills Strong communication and interpersonal abilities with a range of audiences Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software Experience working as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment Ability to plan work priorities of teams over a longer term, as well as short term Enthusiasm and pride in your work Experience in notes and minute taking Previous experience in research and recommendation reports

Previous service‑related experience Experience and understanding of HR policies and procedures Project planning & delivery experience Change management experience
