Role Overview

We are looking for a proactive, detail‑oriented Buyer to join our procurement team on a 12‑month maternity leave cover. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a high‑impact, mission‑critical industry while supporting key supply chain and manufacturing operations.

Reporting to the Senior Buyer, you will play a vital role in ensuring materials and services are procured efficiently, cost‑effectively, and in line with quality and compliance standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Raise and manage purchase orders accurately and on time
  • Attend procurement and cross‑functional meetings at our Crawley manufacturing site
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative supplier relationships
  • Support cost‑reduction initiatives and benchmark supply chain competitiveness
  • Collaborate closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering, and Quality teams on NPI projects
  • Support the Senior Buyer with negotiations and strategic sourcing activities
  • Identify and implement cost‑saving and value‑engineering opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards through accurate process documentation
  • Resolve supplier invoice queries and manage internal demand requests
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met (Total Cost of Ownership)


What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 3 years’ purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective internal and external relationships
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365)
  • Detail‑focused, proactive, and solution‑oriented approach
