Are you a commercially driven Buyer with a passion for delivering growth in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment? We’re partnering with a well-established and growing business to recruit a Buyer to take ownership of a key grocery category.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business where you’ll have real autonomy, influence, and the chance to shape category strategy while working closely with both suppliers and internal stakeholders.

The Role

As Buyer, you’ll be responsible for developing and delivering a category strategy that drives sales, margin, and customer satisfaction. You’ll manage supplier relationships, negotiate effectively, and ensure the product range remains competitive and relevant.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement category plans aligned with business objectives

Manage supplier relationships, including negotiations on cost, promotions, and terms

*

Analyse market trends, customer insights, and competitor activity to inform decisions

*

Drive range reviews, new product development, and product lifecycle management

*

Work cross-functionally with supply chain, marketing, and finance teams

*

Monitor category performance, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement

*

Ensure availability, stock optimisation, and effective promotional planning

About You

*

Proven experience in a Buying role within grocery, FMCG, or retail

*

Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering growth

*

Confident negotiator with the ability to influence suppliers and stakeholders

*

Highly analytical, able to turn data into actionable insights

*

Organised and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

*

A collaborative approach with excellent communication skills
