Materials & Plant Hire Buyer\n\nLeicester | Permanent | Competitive Salary + Package\n\nWe are working on behalf of a well-established construction contractor based in Leicester who is looking to appoint an experienced Materials & Plant Hire Buyer to join their commercial team.\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a proven buyer with strong supplier relationships and a background in construction procurement to play a key role in supporting project delivery across the Midlands.\n\nThe Role:\n\nYou will be responsible for the procurement of materials and plant hire across multiple projects, ensuring best value, reliability, and programme support. Duties will include:\n\n * \n\n Managing supplier relationships and negotiating competitive rates\n\n * \n\n Procuring materials and plant hire in line with project requirements\n\n * \n\n Carrying out drawing take-offs where required\n\n * \n\n Supporting commercial and operational teams with procurement strategy\n\n * \n\n Monitoring market trends and supply chain performance\n\n * \n\n Ensuring compliance with company and project procurement procedures\n\nAbout You:\n\n * \n\n Proven experience as a Materials Buyer / Plant Hire Buyer within construction\n\n * \n\n Strong supplier network across the Midlands\n\n * \n\n Confident completing drawing take-offs\n\n * \n\n Commercially astute with excellent negotiation skills\n\n * \n\n Proactive, reliable, and able to work to tight deadlines\n\nPackage:\n\n * \n\n Salary in the region of £40,000+, depending on experience\n\n * \n\n Attractive benefits package\n\n * \n\n Long-term permanent opportunity with a stable contractor\n\nThis role offers excellent long-term career prospects within a business with a strong pipeline of work
