We have an excellent opportunity for a Buyer, to join our busy team based at our head office in Basingstoke.

The Role

As Buyer you will place external purchase orders in line with production requirements and non-stock purchase orders in line with requisition approval requirements. Expedite suppliers to ensure parts and services are delivered on time and ensure sufficient capacity exists within the supply chain and if required identify gaps and drive the introduction of new suppliers.

Key duties.

• Raising and scheduling Purchase Orders, to deliver goods and services at the right price and timeframe that meets the business needs
• First point of contact for any purchase order queries, internally or externally
• Expediting and reporting to management on status of parts and purchase orders
• Representing purchasing at daily production meetings and liaising with the Site Lead Operational Manager
• Creating and maintaining reports relevant to the expediting process
• Working in conjunction with the Supplier Development Engineer to implement root cause investigation improvements with supplier as required
• Managing and owning supplier relationships
• Resolving invoice discrepancies in a timely manner
• Identifying potential alternative suppliers

• Demonstrated experience of purchasing and supply chain
• Strong Microsoft Office skills and ERP systems experience
• Self-motivated, proactive, and reliable
• Positive, flexible working attitude
• CIPS qualification (desirable)
