Our innovative, award-winning projects demonstrate our commitment to excellence and professionalism.We're looking for a proactive and detail-driven Buying Assistant to join our Support Services team, supporting regional operations across Chesterfield & Highways.This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with some purchasing or procurement experience, ideally within construction or a related sector, who is looking to develop their career within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.Working closely with the Regional Buyer and key operational teams, you'll play a vital role in ensuring materials, plant, and equipment are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and to the highest quality standards.What You'll Be DoingSupporting the procurement of materials, plant, and PPE across the regionObtaining quotes, negotiating best value, and building strong supplier relationshipsRaising and managing purchase orders via company procurement systemsAssisting with supply chain management and maintaining supplier recordsCoordinating the hire of vehicles and managing associated records and complianceMaintaining asset registers, ensuring equipment is tracked, serviced, and compliantSupporting the management of office stores, ensuring accurate logging and documentation (e.g. COSHH, SDS, certificates)Working closely with site and contracts teams to maximise use of available materials and reduce wasteAssisting with PPE tracking and regional maintenance schedulesContributing to sustainability initiatives and researching environmentally responsible productsProviding cover across the admin and procurement team when neededWhat We're Looking ForSome experience in a buying/procurement role, ideally within construction or a similar environmentConfident using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)Strong organisational and time management skillsExcellent attention to detail with the ability to prioritise workloadGood communication skills, with a collaborative approachBasic negotiation skills and commercial awarenessNVQ Level 3 in Business Administration (or similar), orEquivalent experience, or a willingness to work towards a qualification/apprenticeshipWhy Join UsBe part of a supportive and collaborative regional teamGain exposure across procurement, supply chain, and operational deliveryPlay a key role in supporting sustainability and social value initiativesDevelop your career within a growing and dynamic businessWe are committed to:Maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and quality (SHEQ)Creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive workplaceDriving sustainability and social value across everything we doIf you feel you have the skills and experience to be considered for this role, click on apply today forwarding and up to date copy of your CV for consideration in the first instanceNo agencies please.JBRP1_UKTJ
