Cable Project Engineer

An established UK transmission operator is seeking a Cable Project Engineer to join a multi-disciplinary engineering team delivering major infrastructure and energy projects. Key Responsibilities: Provide cable engineering input across multiple projects, including outline cable system design, technology option assessments, underground route selection, and current rating calculations (CYMCAP). Support projects through the full lifecycle from concept and design to construction, installation, commissioning, and handover. Participate in and support risk and safety sessions including HAZID, HAZCON and HAZOP. Develop technical scopes and specifications for new and modified underground cable systems. Review contractor and consultant detailed designs, prequalification and type test documentation. Witness factory acceptance testing (FAT) and relevant site acceptance testing. Ensure compliance with industry standards, CDM Regulations, ESQCR, and wider HSE legislation, embedding safety by design. Requirements: Degree-qualified in a relevant engineering discipline; Chartered or working towards chartership preferred.
