You will be responsible for driving the growth and delivery of ABL Group’s Cable and Interconnector services across Europe and Western Africa. This is a hybrid role which combines business development with technical expertise to deliver Marine Warranty Survey (MWS), Owner Engineering, and general offshore consultancy projects. The role will require awareness and assistance with ABL activities globally but will predominantly be concentrating on Europe and West Africa.
What will you be doing?
- Develop scopes of work, manage projects deliverables, and communicate resource requirements across the business.
- Develop the business strategy and strategic planning for services in the offshore energy markets.
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to prospective clients.
- Lead complex proposals and / or contract negotiations, including those with third-party suppliers.
- Responsible for delivery of quality documents within a timeline established by management and client.
- Lever competitor intelligence to support ABL England’s offering in the market and change the strategy and commercial approach accordingly.
- Partner with new and existing clients to understand their needs and articulate how ABL Group can add value.
- Work with the different divisions in ABL Group to develop ‘cross selling’ and mutual opportunities with clients.
- Develop, maintain and share relationships internally with potential clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
- Proactively support the recruitment and retention efforts of staff within the region to ensure growth and project delivery.
- Share deep domain knowledge and expertise, identify opportunities and contacts throughout the offshore energy space.
- Collaborate with the ABL Energy engineering, marketing and finance teams to develop and implement effective sales strategies.
- Proactively contribute to the evolution and implementation of process improvements, competency developments and innovation.
- Promote QHSE related activities within all operations and ensure compliance to all applicable company QHSE policies, procedures, work systems and regulations.
Ideally, You Will Have Led Subsea And Offshore Cable Installation Engineering Projects And Possess An Understanding Of Marine Warranty Surveys And Owner Engineering. More Specifically, We Are Looking For The Following
- Educated to degree level in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
- A strong understanding of the energy market, marine warranty survey processes and industry best practices.
- Minimum 10 years relevant professional experience in energy consultancy and marine warranty.
- Proven ability of managing technical energy projects to successful completion.
- Proven success of developing business relationships to successful tender award.
- Solid understanding of the Energy sector - Renewable and Oil and Gas.
This position can be based at one of our UK offices, preferably London or Aberdeen. We are also open to hosting this position in Hamburg, Germany.
You must have the legal right to work and reside in the United Kingdom or Germany.
You must be ready and willing to travel at short notice to onshore or offshore assignments locally or globally.
