Job Description

Elevations Design & Project division are supporting a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in South Yorkshire who, due to continued growth, are seeking a skilled CAD Design Engineer / Draughtsman with solid experience using Autodesk Inventor to join their dynamic design team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings to support ongoing projects. You’ll work closely with the engineering and production teams to ensure designs are fit for purpose, cost-effective, and delivered on time.

CAD Design / Draughtsman Key Responsibilities:

Create 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor

Modify and update existing designs in line with project requirements and feedback

Work collaboratively with engineers and project managers to develop design solutions

Produce detailed BOMs, assembly drawings, and technical documentation

Support the production and fabrication teams with design queries or issues

Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards and internal quality processes

Contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives

CAD Design / Draughtsman Skills & Experience Required

Proven experience in a design or draughting role within an engineering/manufacturing environment

Proficient in Autodesk Inventor (essential)

Strong understanding of engineering principles, fabrication methods, and manufacturing processes

Ability to interpret and produce detailed technical drawings

Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Good communication and teamwork abilities
