Senior Civils 3D CAD Technician
Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday - Hybrid working possible (2 days from home)
Randstad are looking for a highly skilled Senior Civils 3D CAD Technician to join a dynamic highways design team in London. In this role, you will be responsible for developing scheme drawings from 2D to 3D for construction.
Previous experience working on Transport for London (TfL) projects highly desirable
You will be providing technical advice and coordinating project delivery across feasibility studies, preliminary design, and detailed design phases.
Key Responsibilities
Design Production: Produce Civils 3D CAD designs based on 2D drawings, including contour plans, cut & fill plans, setting out information, and cross-sections.
Specialized Tooling: Prepare sign designs using KeySigns and manage post and foundation designs using Sign Load Professional and Key Post.
Technical Support: Assist in the preparation of technical designs in accordance with approved procedures and provide constructability advice to Scheme Engineers during the planning phase.
Reporting & Compliance: Manage resource allocation for early construction activities and assist with weekly and monthly internal/external reporting.
Collaboration: Liaise with the client (TfL) and third-party stakeholders while working proactively with multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
Safety & Quality: Promote a strong Health and Safety culture and ensure technical compliance of assigned schemes to design specifications.Essential Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate:
Experience: A minimum of 7 years of highway design experience.
Education: An Engineering Qualification or relevant demonstrable equivalent experience.
Technical Proficiency: Expert-level skills in AutoCAD and Civils 3D.
Software Knowledge: Competency in Key Signs, Key Post, Sign Load Professional, Autotrack, and MS Office.
Standards: A deep understanding of DMRB and SHW (essential) and experience producing highway schemes to UK standards.
Soft Skills: Ability to work with minimal supervision, set realistic deadlines, and communicate fluently in English.
