Job Description
We're currently supporting a well-established engineering consultancy that is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Civil Technician to join their growing civil infrastructure team.
This is a senior technical role with real responsibility, offering the chance to lead civil design delivery across a range of complex projects while mentoring junior staff and working closely with engineers and project managers.
The Role
As a Senior Civil Technician, you'll take a lead role in the production and coordination of detailed civil engineering designs, primarily using Autodesk Civil 3D. Projects typically include site development, roads, drainage, stormwater management, and water & sewer utilities, including pressurised systems for mission-critical facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and produce high-quality civil designs and drawings in Civil 3D
Develop 3D models, grading designs, and earthworks calculations
Coordinate closely with engineers to deliver plans, profiles, and sections
Carry out design QA/QC and ensure compliance with standards and regulations
Manage drawing packages, revisions, and project documentation
Review volume calculations for excavation and site grading
Mentor and support junior technicians
Contribute to project delivery within agreed scope, budget, and programme
About You
Degree/HND/foundation degree in drafting or a related discipline
7+ years' experience in civil engineering design
Advanced Civil 3D experience (Navisworks, MS Office essential; Revit, MicroStation or GIS beneficial)
Strong understanding of civil design principles, calculations, and standards
Confident working in a multi-disciplinary project environment
