About The Role
As a Calibration Engineer within Almac Pharma Services, based at our Charnwood site, you will play a key role in supporting a GMP-compliant calibration programme across a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
You will be responsible for carrying out calibration, verification, adjustment and repair of a wide range of instrumentation and specialist equipment, ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards, company procedures and regulatory requirements. The role involves both hands-on technical work and structured documentation, with a strong focus on quality, accuracy and compliance.
Working closely with Engineering and site stakeholders, you will investigate and resolve calibration-related issues, contribute to instrument criticality assessments, support new equipment installation, and ensure calibration schedules, records and reference standards are maintained to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities
Perform calibration, verification and preventive maintenance of instrumentation in line with approved procedures.
Investigate, diagnose and rectify calibration and instrumentation faults in a timely manner.
Work in accordance with GMP requirements and approved calibration methods
Specify, purchase, install and set up new and replacement instrumentation and associated spare parts.
Maintain calibration reference standards and calibration records
Contribute to instrument criticality assessments and development of calibration schedules.
Report and investigate calibration non-conformances in line with quality systems
Support compliance with Health & Safety, Quality and Training requirements
Carry out additional duties appropriate to the role as required by the Engineering Supervisor
About You
To be successful in this role, were looking for you to have the following essential criteria:
City & Guilds qualification in Electronics or Control & Instrumentation
Experience carrying out calibration activities within a pharmaceutical or similarly regulated manufacturing environment
Good working knowledge of instrumentation and control systems in a GMP environment
Understanding of UKAS-accredited calibration principles
The following would be desirable, but not essential:
ONC / HNC qualification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation & Control
Experience working with Building Management Systems (BMS)
Experience using electronic calibration management systems
