Come and join the team at Roger Old Auto's in Newquay, Cornwall. We have a well equipped modern workshop andare in need of a Service Technician (Mechanic)to join our friendly team. The successful candidate will be responsible for repairing, and servicing a wide variety of vehicles, maintaining the high standard of workmanship our customers have come to rely on.

Please note: this position is only open to applicants with a minimum of five years experience within a garage environment.

Duties

• Mechanical knowledge to accurately identify issues.
• Perform repairs and servicing on a range of vehicles including Cars, vans and motorhomes.
• Repair or replace faulty parts, ensuring all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain detailed and accurate job card records of all work completed and parts used.
• If necessary, provide excellent customer service by clearly explaining the repair process and answering any customer queries professionally.
• Keep the workshop clean, organised, and compliant with all health and safety regulations.

Experience & Skills Required

• A minimum offive years proven experiencein automotive repair or a closely related field (essential).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, and vehicle assembly processes is an advantage.
• Proficiency with maintenance procedures and technical know how is a must.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and repair techniques is highly desirable (but not essential).
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly.
• Physical fitness suitable for heavy lifting and working in varied workshop conditions.
