JOB DESCRIPTION FOR THE POST OF A CARE ASSISTANT The Gables Care home is a home for residents with previous mental health issue and ongoing drug/alcohol misuse. Previous care experience of working with service users (residents) with mental health/drug and alcohol issues will be desirable. Other duties involve: Personal Care Hygiene: Assisting with bathing, showering, oral care, dressing, and using the toilet. Mobility: Helping residents move around, using aids like hoists, and ensuring safe transfers. Dignity: Maintaining residents' self-respect, helping with hair styling, makeup, and ensuring privacy. Health & Wellbeing Monitoring: Taking and recording vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, weight) and reporting changes. Medication: Assisting with prescribed medication, reminding residents, and recording administration (where trained).
