The Role
Our client is seeking warm, empathetic, and dependable Care Professionals to provide non-medical companionship, home support, and personal care. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about improving the lives of older adults through meaningful engagement and practical assistance.
As a Care Professional, you will help clients live independently, maintain their dignity, and enjoy a high quality of life at home.
Key Responsibilities1. Companionship and Home Support
- Offer friendly companionship and build long-term rapport with clients
- Assist with light household chores (e.g., tidying, laundry, hoovering)
- Help with shopping, errands, and light gardening
- Prepare nutritious meals and ensure adequate hydration
- Provide medication reminders
- Look after pets where required
- Accompany clients to appointments, events, and outings
2. Personal Care Support
- Support clients with washing, bathing, and dressing
- Assist with continence care and the use of aids where needed
- Help with safe movement and mobility around the home
- Offer sensitive support to individuals living with memory loss or dementia
- Promote independence while preserving dignity and privacy
3. Safeguarding and Well-Being
- Ensure the safety and well-being of clients at all times
- Report safeguarding concerns in line with the client’s policies and procedures
- Recognise changes in behaviour or health and escalate promptly to the office team
- Follow lone working and risk management protocols
- Maintain clear professional boundaries and promote client autonomy
4. Professionalism and Communication
- Be punctual, reliable, and presentable for every scheduled visit
- Log activities and observations accurately using the care management system
- Communicate clearly with the client’s office team and participate in training as required
- Represent the client’s values and ethos in every interaction
- Adapt to the evolving needs and preferences of clients
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a genuine passion for supporting older people
- Be caring, dependable, and empathetic
- Understand both the emotional and practical elements of care
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate respect for confidentiality and safeguarding procedures
- Be able to follow detailed care plans with attention and care
- Show initiative and find ways to offer added value in day-to-day care
- Exhibit patience, maturity, and professionalism
- Align with the client’s values of loving, caring, giving, and compassion
