Location: Bricklehurst Manor School, Stonegate, East Sussex, TN5 7EL
Salary: Up to £48,000 per annum depending on experience (not pro rata)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 8:00 am - 4:00 pm including 1 x 5pm finish
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: April 2026

We are looking for a passionate and innovative Careers & Enterprise Teacher to deliver an exciting, real-world curriculum that helps students develop practical skills, confidence and clear pathways into employment, training or further education.

This is a unique opportunity to inspire young people with SEMH needs by connecting classroom learning to real-life experiences and future ambitions. As a Careers & Enterprise Teacher, you will deliver engaging vocational and enterprise-based learning, helping students build essential life skills and understand the world of work.

Youll create opportunities for pupils to explore careers, develop independence and gain hands-on experience that prepares them for life beyond school.

What Youll Be Doing

• Deliver engaging careers, enterprise and vocational lessons tailored to SEMH needs
• Inspire students to develop practical skills, confidence and independence
• Use creative and therapeutic approaches to engage and motivate learners
• Lead hands-on enterprise projects (e.g. café, plant nursery, small business initiatives)
• Teach key life skills including financial literacy, teamwork and problem-solving
• Build links with employers, colleges and training providers to support future pathways
• Support students in accessing work experience and post-16 opportunities, including EHCP contributions
• Work collaboratively with staff and partners to promote a culture of ambition, aspiration and achievement

Who Were Looking For

You are a forward-thinking leader who believes in preparing young people for real life, not just exams.

You will have:

• QTS or equivalent (Cert Ed accepted)
• Experience delivering vocational qualifications in SEMH or specialist settings
• Strong knowledge of Gatsby Benchmarks, vocational pathways (BTEC, NVQ, Functional Skills)
• Experience developing enterprise projects or business initiatives
• A deep understanding of trauma-informed practice and behaviour support
• The ability to build strong partnerships with employers and external organisations
• A passion for helping young people achieve meaningful, sustainable futures

About the School

Bricklehurst Manor School is a brand-new, co-educational SEMH school located in Wadhurst, East Sussex, for pupils aged 1116. The school will cater for up to 60 pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and associated additional needs.
