Role SummaryAs a Category Assistant, you will gain hands-on exposure to product lifecycle management, market research, commercial analysis, and product launch activities. The Category Assistant position offers an excellent opportunity to build commercial and analytical capability while developing the skills required. This is a key role to support within the category team and coordinate with product management activities.Role & Responsibilities of the Category Assistant Provide administrative and organisational support to the category management teamAssist in gathering and maintaining market, competitor, and consumer dataPrepare reports, presentations, and analyses to support category decision-makingMaintain product databases, pricing files, and key product documentationAssist with product sample management and coordinationTrack progress of new product development projects and support project timelinesCompile sales and product performance reportsSupport margin and pricing analysis under guidance from senior team membersMaintain accurate records of product and promotional performanceAssist in coordinating new product launch activitiesSupport the preparation of sales and marketing materials for product launchesEnsure product information is accurately shared across internal systems and platformsAssist with organising promotional activities and monitoring their effectivenessSupport the preparation of customer presentations and product materialsLiaise with suppliers, agencies, and internal departments as required Requirements of the Category Assistant Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline, or equivalent experienceExposure to the product lifecycle requiredStrong interest in product management, marketing, or commercial rolesGood analytical and numerical skills with the ability to interpret dataProficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and WordValid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for occasional travel Benefits: 25 days holiday, pension, profit share, life insurance, and staff discountsApply NowIf you are looking to develop a career in product and category management, this Category Assistant opportunity offers the chance to gain valuable commercial experience while supporting an experienced team.
