Category Manager – Indirect Procurement

Location: North London (Hybrid)

Salary & Benefits: £80,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus + Shares

The Opportunity

This is a strategic Category Manager role with responsibility for leading sourcing and supplier management across a broad portfolio of indirect spend categories throughout Europe, with particular focus on areas such as HR, Professional Services, Fleet, and Travel, alongside wider indirect categories.


You will operate as a true business partner to senior stakeholders across HR, Finance, Legal, IT, Marketing, and Operations, ensuring procurement strategies are fully aligned to commercial priorities and transformation objectives.


Working within a complex, multi-country structure, you will drive procurement excellence by embedding best-practice category management, supplier governance frameworks, and innovative sourcing models. You will play a key role in shaping sourcing strategies across critical business services and enabling the organisation to operate more efficiently and commercially.

Occasional travel across Europe and the USA will be required.


Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior stakeholders to shape sourcing strategies aligned to business goals
  • Develop and implement regional and global category strategies across indirect spend, including HR, Professional Services, Fleet, and Travel
  • Lead strategic sourcing projects, competitive tenders, and complex supplier negotiations
  • Drive implementation of new supplier models, contracts, and governance frameworks
  • Manage strategic supplier relationships and performance management processes
  • Consolidate and leverage spend across regions and business units to maximise value
  • Deliver measurable cost optimisation, service improvements, and supplier-led innovation
  • Provide clear reporting, market insight, and commercial recommendations to senior procurement leadership


Skills & Experience

  • Degree qualified; CIPS qualification desirable
  • Proven experience in indirect procurement or category management
  • Experience across categories such as HR, Professional Services, Fleet, Travel, or other indirect areas is highly beneficial
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capability
  • Experience operating within complex, multi-country organisations
  • Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills
  • Ability to lead change and embed new sourcing strategies
