Immediate start available in a 12 month Assignment for someone with experience of supporting senior staff within a new Centre/Department preferably within a large organisation.This highly proficient, and experienced Centre Manager will provide high quality support to the Director, Centre for Critical Illness Research and other stake holders.Key responsibilities:Supporting the Director for CIR in setting up and establishing the Centre incorporating processes for smooth runningProvide an in-depth knowledge of business operational support practices, methods and procedures gained through experience and/or formal qualification, acting as the point of contact for Staff, Students, and stakeholdersManage own workload, pattern of work and resources based on an agreed work plan, to deliver the required support, responding to changing priorities and an evolving environment/context, maximising the efficiency of the support being provided Use well-developed analytical skills to identify trends and patterns, to inform decisions and assist in work prioritisation and planning Work collaboratively with colleagues within and beyond Kings, using networking opportunities to share best practiceForge relationships with Colleagues in the University and externally to build relationships, disseminate and get information, coordinate, and deliver the required support Encourage and adopt environmentally sustainable practiceBe responsible for the compliance with relevant regulations, guidance and legislation governing the area of work and responsibility, including General Data Protection Regulation, supporting the monitoring safe working practiceOrganising meetings, preparing, and issuing papers and briefing documents, and taking minutesFacilitate an inclusive culture and ethos working with Students, Academic Staff and Professional Services colleagues and external contactsThe post holder will report to the Chair, Centre for Critical Illness Research.Skills, experience and education:Experience of working within the senior or management teams of Centres/Departments.Extensive administrative/operational experience with an in-depth knowledge of a range of practices, methods, and procedures Clear and precise communication skills, including formal communications such as report/minute writingStrong interpersonal and influencing/behavioural skillsProficient computer use with knowledge of the full Microsoft package MS Outlook 365, MS Teams, PowerPoint, Word and Excel, along with the use of a web-publishing software packageProactive and responsive to contacts in immediate area, across the organisation and externally, building relationships and a networkSolutions-focused self-starter, with excellent planning and organisational skills, a good eye for detail and able to manage competing priorities and work with minimal supervisionDesirable:Experience of establishing a new Centre or DepartmentHave a full working knowledge ofGDPRregulationsand experience of complying with complex regulations/proceduresExperience of working in the higher education sectorJBRP1_UKTJ
