Purpose of role: The Guru system is architectural, shopfitting and F&F platform, providing detailed information to all internal and external stakeholders globally who are involved in the construction of new stores, refits, retrofits and franchise, it is a key tool of expansion roadmap.
This role is the principal content manager and creator for all CFE, VM and internal navigation content held on guru. Responsible for generating and managing all 2D and 3D drawings, page creation, equipment profiles, PK codes and uploads onto the beta guru system. Further responsible for the creation and testing of CAD smart blocks and libraries for Storespace (2D store planning system support) and Guru. Working closely with Design managers, Fixture teams, Brand and VM teams to ensure all information is accurate and up to date, providing training to internal and external teams as required.
The role will also support the design development of new equipment working with the Head of design to create equipment designs, 3D and 2D Cad models as required for the purpose of gaining internal sign off and briefing 3rd parties.
Main responsibilities:
- Manager and creator of all Centre Floor Equipment information standards for Guru, including but not exclusive to all new department retail concepts, std F&F, department planning guidelines, ISE equipment, internal signage, 3d models, production drawings and drawing registers.
- Responsible for the creation and testing of all beta pages and their content relating to CFE within Guru including their links to smart blocks and store space integration.
- Have full cognizance of retail DNA and support its appropriate evolution through materials, sustainability principles and production techniques as required.
- Create new designs for retail equipment creating defining briefs with business stakeholders and providing designs including, 3D visualisation and sketch up models of equipment as required.
- Working with head of design and fixture development manager to create concept designs and take them through design development and prototyping to sign off and final guru upload to create BAU equipment for roll out
- Responsible for maintaining the Blue book, updating it with visuals and fixture data against a regular release schedule of no less than 2 update per year.
- Creation and testing of all 2D cad smart blocks and AutoCAD dropdown libraires for new retail concepts and F&F including the linking to profile pages within Guru.
- Hyperlink management and testing of all PK coded equipment to ensure smooth and accurate running of Storespace to generate accurate Bill of Quantities for fixture ordering
- Equipment Profile creation and testing including all associated metadata held on Guru in relation to store space.
- Test and approve all links and interfaces between guru and store space platforms, including all meta data relating to profiles and PK codes for all F&F equipment.
- Represent Guru at all CFE forums (eg Continual Improvement Group) providing updates and taking feedback to implement as appropriate for the ongoing development of the system.
- Formatting and uploading all technical and production drawings and drawing registers provided by the Fixture manager and for the purpose of tendering and production
- Main point of contact for DM’s, VM and Brand team as required, taking briefing as required
- Work closely with the system manager to obtain and gain approval of external works costs
- Page creation, uploading and management for all relevant concepts and equipment within the change control ‘beta’ area of guru.
- Overall gate keeper of all planning and design guideline standards and any associated templates so that all content is consistent .
- Produce all new retail department design and planning guidelines, supported by design managers as required, ensuring most current content is always held on Guru and superseded content is correctly archived.
- Provide training to all stakeholders on new concept planning principles and smart blocks usage
- Work with fixture manager to obtain and upload all production technical drawings and EHS certificates associated with all non fixed equipment as required.

Essential knowledge, education, skills and experience:
• A Degree in 3D Design, or minimum 5 years of relevant experience in retail design
• Proficiency in Adobe applications is preferential
• Proficiency in Sketch up and AutoCAD and office is required
• Experience in retail space planning an advantage
• Familiarity with other 3D modelling software is beneficial
• Must have a high level of project management skills
• Ability to sketch and hand draw is an advantage
• Knowledge of manufacturing standards, materials and construction methods
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, ability to trouble shoot during the course of a project
• Strong organisational skills with a can-do attitude and excellent attention to detail
• Ability to lead and work well as part of a team and cross functionally with other teams to ensure
successful projects
• Proven ability in managing sensitive matters whilst ensuring all information remains
confidential to the business.
• Must be able to work well under tight deadlines and able to reprioritise efficiently
• Self-starter able to work under own initiative, taking projects from start to finish
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
