Charity People is proud to partner with Auditory Verbal UK (AVUK) in the search for a new Head of Fundraising, a pivotal leadership role driving the future growth and impact of this ambitious, award-winning charity.
AVUK is on a mission to ensure that every deaf child has the same opportunities in life as their hearing peers . Through Auditory Verbal therapy, AVUK empowers deaf babies and children to learn to listen and speak, while also training health and education professionals in this life-changing approach. The charity is committed to expanding access to Auditory Verbal therapy across the UK, advocating for it to be available through publicly funded services close to home.
Location: Hybrid – Central London (Bermondsey) & Remote (minimum 1 day in-office per fortnight)
Direct Reports: 5 (Trusts & Foundations, Development, Partnerships, Philanthropy)
Benefits: 7% pension, 27 days annual leave (pro-rata) + bank holidays + 1 privilege day
As Head of Fundraising, you’ll lead both strategically and operationally, shaping and delivering a bold fundraising strategy aligned with AVUK’s 10-year vision. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strategic, collaborative, and innovative fundraising leader ready to make a lasting impact.
Lead the development and implementation of AVUK’s fundraising strategy
Manage and mentor a high-performing team of five senior fundraisers
Cultivate relationships with high-net-worth individuals, trusts, foundations, and corporate partners
Collaborate with the Fundraising Advisory Board to identify and secure new funding opportunities
Proven leadership in fundraising strategy and team development
Excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire a wide range of stakeholders
A passion for equity and inclusion , and a belief in AVUK’s mission
