Overview
BLW Recruitment is seeking several skilled and passionate Chef de Partie candidates to join a variety of prestigious Cambridge college kitchens. These roles offer the opportunity to work in unique, historic settings while delivering high-quality food for students, fellows, and guests. Successful candidates will be adaptable, reliable, and committed to maintaining excellent culinary standards across diverse kitchen environments.

Key Responsibilities

* Prepare, cook, and present dishes to a consistently high standard in line with each college’s culinary expectations

* Take ownership of a designated section of the kitchen, ensuring smooth day-to-day operation

* Assist in menu preparation, development, and seasonal updates where required

* Maintain strict food hygiene and health & safety standards at all times

* Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering, and minimise waste

* Work collaboratively with kitchen teams, including Head Chefs and Sous Chefs, across different college settings

* Support the delivery of formal dining, events, and high-volume service as needed

* Ensure all food is prepared and served in a timely manner

Requirements

* Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or strong Commis Chef ready to step up

* Relevant culinary qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent)

* Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices

* Ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced environments

* Flexibility to work across multiple college locations if required

* A professional, positive attitude with strong teamwork skills

Desirable Skills

* Experience in contract catering, education, or large-scale dining environments

* Knowledge of dietary requirements and allergen management

* Passion for fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients
