A leading patent practice with a strong national presence is looking to recruit a Part-Qualified Chemistry Patent Attorney to join its growing team in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for someone part-way through qualification who is seeking outstanding training, high-quality work and long-term career development within a supportive environment.

The firm is known for its structured and hands-on training approach, with close partner involvement and access to a broad range of chemical and life sciences matters. You will work with a diverse client base, including innovative start-ups, established SMEs and multinational organisations.

Your role will involve:

• Drafting and prosecuting UK, EP and international patent applications
• Working closely with senior attorneys on complex chemical and life sciences inventions
• Managing your own caseload with appropriate supervision
• Advising clients on patentability, infringement and freedom-to-operate issues
• Supporting trainees and junior colleagues where appropriate

About You

• Part-qualified UK and/or European Patent Attorney
• Strong academic background in Chemistry or a closely related discipline
• Currently working in private practice or an in-house IP team
• Motivated, commercially aware, and keen to progress towards qualification
