Where will you be working?

We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards.  We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure.

This role will be within our Water Division working with water and waste water.

What will you be doing? 

As our Chief Estimator you'll oversee and manage an estimating team and function in M Group Water reporting to the Executive Director. You'll ensure competence, capacity and compliance of a world class estimating function that supports and delivers against our values and business plan.
You'll be responsible for leading and developing the Estimating function for M Group water.  Ensuring quality, timely delivery and alignment with governance. Support strategic bids, promote collaboration across teams and drive continuous improvement.  You'll oversee resources, reporting , and talent development.
You'll champion health, safety, wellbeing, and environmental standards. Build string client relationships, support business planning and ensure customer satisfaction. Encourage a positive, inclusive culture and robust risk management. Work closely with leadership to meet commercial goals and uphold M Group water values. 

What you’ll bring

  • A deep knowledge of estimating tools, techniques and best practices especially in utilities or infrastructure sectors.
  • An Ability to assess bids, manage risk, and ensure robust pricing and governance.
  • Experience in managing strategic bids, forecasting workloads and prioritising tasks effectively.
  • Competence in producing monthly reports, opportunity tracking and cost analysis.
  • Familiarity with business management systems, governance procedures and continuous improvement methodologies
