Childcare Solicitor Experience: NQ-6 Years' PQE) Location: Birmingham Contract: Permanent, full-time (flexible working available)

A highly regarded Legal 500 law firm in Birmingham is seeking to recruit a Childcare Solicitor to join its well-established and specialist family and care team. This opportunity is open to newly qualified solicitors through to those with up to 6 years' PQE.

The team has an excellent reputation for representing local authorities, parents, guardians, and other parties in public law children matters, and is known for its supportive culture, high-quality work, and commitment to social justice.

The Role

You will manage a varied caseload of public law childcare matters, including:

Care proceedings Supervision and placement orders Interim applications Advocacy (depending on experience) Working closely with clients, social workers, and other professionals The level of responsibility will be tailored to your experience, with structured supervision and development support available at all levels.The Ideal Candidate

Experience in childcare/public law children work (or strong training seat exposure for NQs) Comfortable handling sensitive and emotionally complex cases Strong advocacy, communication, and organisational skills A genuine commitment to child welfare and public law workWhat's on Offer
