Location: Greater Manchester
Pay rate: £42 per hour
We are seeking experienced and passionate Childrens Advanced Practitioners, Qualified Social Workers, to join our dedicated Assessment & Intervention team. In this role, you will work within a busy and supportive service to assess and support children and families, intervening early to provide help when needed. Your responsibilities will include carrying out Section 47 Enquiries, progressing cases to Initial Child Protection Conferences, and planning for permanence from the outset. You will work directly with children and families, collaborating with agencies such as police and health to achieve positive, sustainable outcomes. The service maintains strong links with our Integrated Prevention and Earliest Help colleagues to promote community support when social care intervention is no longer required.
Working in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, guided by social care values and principles, you will support the delivery of person-centred, safe, and effective services. Using your professional knowledge and experience, you will make assessments and determine the most appropriate interventions. With your significant Social Work experience and excellent communication skills, you will build and maintain relationships with service users and partner agencies to ensure needs are met.

Ideal candidates will be:
- Registered with Social Work England as a Qualified Social Worker.
- Experienced in working with children and families, including vulnerable groups.
- Creative, flexible, and forward-thinking in approach.
- Knowledgeable of Child Protection legislation and issues.
- Dedicated to continuous improvement for better outcomes.
- Skilled in mediation and negotiation on behalf of service users.
- Experienced in engaging children and families in assessments and plans.
- Committed to delivering high-quality services.
- Experienced in working within multi-disciplinary, interagency teams.
- Having at least 4 years of post-qualification experience.
In this role, you will:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of risks, protection, and social care needs.
- Manage an agreed caseload.
- Utilize specialized communication skills to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Create individual care plans that respect diversity, dignity, and empowerment.
- Provide advice and support to unqualified staff and students for development purposes.
