Civil Design Engineer

New Today

A well-established, multi-disciplinary Architectural, Sustainability, Civil and Structural Consultancy is looking to bring a Civil Design Engineer into its friendly and growing team. With everything under one roof, the business works closely together across disciplines to help clients move their projects forward smoothly - from early ideas and planning stages right through to getting on site.

The business supports a broad range of clients including private individuals, national housebuilders, Local Authorities, registered social landlords and contractors, many of whom it has worked alongside for close to 20 years. Its portfolio ranges from bespoke one-off homes and listed buildings through to large residential developments of several thousand plots, multi-storey buildings and specialist care schemes. The team takes pride in delivering practical, cost-effective solutions while remaining focused on what clients need and working to agreed timescales.

With increasing demand across the residential sector, and a particularly strong pipeline of care home projects across the UK, the Civil Engineering team is continuing to expand. This role offers the opportunity to become part of a supportive and experienced group, contributing to schemes of varying size and complexity.

The successful candidate will assist in the delivery of civil engineering design packages from early feasibility and planning stages through to detailed design and technical approvals. This will include the preparation of drainage strategies, highway layouts and Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS), levels design, earthworks assessments and utilities coordination. The role will also involve liaising with Local Authorities, highway authorities and water companies to help guide projects through the approvals process.

Applicants should hold a degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline and have experience working on residential or development-led schemes. Experience using Site 3D is important, along with a good understanding of drainage design, highway standards and SuDS principles. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment will be valued.

This is an opportunity to join a well-established Consultancy with a steady and growing workload, particularly within residential and care developments. The company offers a friendly team environment, ongoing professional development and long-term progression. A competitive salary and benefits package is available, and free parking is provided at the office.
