Civil Engineer
Bridgend or Cardiff (Hybrid Working)
£45,000 – £55,000 + Benefits
I am currently working on behalf of a growing engineering consultancy to appoint a Civil Engineer with a strong drainage focus to join their team. This opportunity is open to candidates based in Bridgend or Cardiff, offering flexibility and the chance to work on a variety of development projects across the region.
The Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and delivery of drainage and infrastructure schemes, supporting projects from initial feasibility through to detailed design and approval.
They will be responsible for producing drainage strategies, detailed designs, and technical reports, while working closely with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Design and deliver drainage and infrastructure schemes
Prepare drainage strategies, Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs), and technical reports
Design Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) in line with current standards
Support and manage SAB (Sustainable Drainage Approval Body) applications
Coordinate with clients, local authorities, and multidisciplinary teams
Contribute to projects from concept through to construction stages
Maintain high technical standards across all project deliverablesCandidate Requirements
Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
Strong experience in drainage design and development infrastructure
Experience or understanding of SAB processes and approvals (highly desirable)
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage
Good understanding of SuDS, flood risk, and relevant UK regulations
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaborativelyWhat’s on Offer
