Job Title: Solicitor – Civil Litigation / Contentious Probate
Location: Greenwich (Hybrid working options)
Salary: £45,000–£75,000 D.O.E (NQ–5 years PQE)

The Firm
A specialist law firm with a strong civil litigation practice, providing high-quality advice across a wide range of disputes. The Contentious Probate team handles complex probate and trust disputes and offers an excellent platform for solicitors who wish to specialise in this area.
The Role
We are seeking a Civil Litigation Solicitor with NQ–5 years’ experience to join our Contentious Probate team. This role is ideal for candidates with strong litigation experience who want to develop their expertise in contentious probate, or who have some prior experience in probate-related disputes. You will manage your own caseload, provide expert advice, and support the growth of the department.
Responsibilities
- Advise and represent clients in civil litigation matters, including:
- 1975 Act claims for claimants and defendants
- Probate actions involving forgery, testamentary capacity, undue influence
- Trust disputes, including validity and construction issues
- Fraud allegations and proprietary estoppel claims
- Acting for executors in a neutral capacity
- Draft settlement agreements and other legal documents
- Work in accordance with Law Society, Lexcel, and SRA standards
- Achieve fee targets and contribute to business development
- Record time accurately, bill clients, and ensure recovery of fees
- Manage multiple cases using Tikit case management system
- Liaise with clients, counsel, experts, and internal teams as required
Requirements
- Admitted to the Roll of Solicitors with a current practising certificate (no restrictions)
- NQ–5 years’ PQE in civil litigation, with interest or some experience in contentious probate
- Strong understanding of trust, estate, and probate law
- Ability to manage workload independently and meet deadlines
- Excellent client-facing, communication, and organisational skills
