NES Fircroft is currently recruiting for a Civil / Structural Design Engineer for our client, a global power technology company involved in the UK energy network upgrade.

We seek a candidate to join our "Civil" Design team. The role involves producing and reviewing technical solutions for the Large Transmission Solutions business, requiring collaboration across disciplines and technical expertise in delivering solutions and governance.
Candidate Profile
- Experience with civil and structural design, ideally in consultancy
- Knowledge of M&E design concepts and coordination
- Understanding of Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015
- Proficiency with computational frame design software (e.g., Masterseries, Tedds, STAD-Pro)
- Ability to review calculations and understand procurement of preconstruction info
- Knowledge of multidisciplinary works in energy or similar industries
- Chartered Engineer or equivalent qualification
- Good client-facing skills
Responsibilities
- Manage design packages from transfer to completion for electrical infrastructure projects
- Support procurement and construction teams
- Produce designs using calculations, spreadsheets, and software
- Perform governance checks on other designers’ efforts
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements and regulations
- Coordinate with other disciplines and manage scope of works
- Lead design reviews and liaise with clients and consultants
- Manage changes and site visits as needed
