We are seeking a Claims Leader - Advisory to join our Claims Operations Team at Marsh. This role will be based out of our Norwich office. This is a hybrid role that requires working at least 3 days a week in the office.
The role: Claims Leader - Advisory
The Claims Leader - Advisory will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring service delivery within our specialty Claims team and managing a team of 20/25 Claims Handlers and Team Managers.
You will be part of the Leadership team, ensuring strategic objectives are communicated and delivered, reporting to the UK Head of Claims Operations.
We will rely on you to:
- Manage, lead, and coach colleagues to achieve internal KPIs and client satisfaction for global claims operations management and services.
- Provide strategic guidance regarding regulatory and market imperatives within the region.
- Lead efforts to improve claims processing efficiency across the region by synthesizing best practices and identifying opportunities for improvement, including facilitating claims fast-tracking between clients, insurers, and adjustors.
- Partner with regional and country leadership to innovate and identify new revenue models for Operations and Advocacy.
- Design and evaluate claims operations processes and strategies, managing change to meet operational goals and maximize efficiencies.
- Challenge existing practices and develop innovative solutions to departmental risks, operational controls, and efficiency initiatives.
- Manage complex negotiations with insurers to ensure favorable outcomes for clients and the department.
- Maintain strong relationships with regional advocacy teams to drive claims operations changes.
- Evaluate escalated claims issues of high complexity, providing resolutions or escalating as needed.
- Design, evaluate, and approve operational controls aligned with global standards.
- Lead data improvement initiatives for Claims.
- Implement solutions for efficiency improvements and ensure the Target Operating Model evolves.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and document all processes and evidence.
- Be data literate, focus on data-driven discussions, and foster a high-performance culture.
What you need to have:
- Proven team leadership experience
- Excellent understanding of Specialist product lines, especially Aviation, Energy, Liability, and Business Interruption, with knowledge of other product lines beneficial.
- Experience in a commercial claims environment at a broker, insurer, or claims handling organization.
- Knowledge of insurer claims propositions and best practices in claims service.
- Outstanding organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong data capabilities to influence decisions and drive outcomes.
