Job Overview
We are seeking a professional Part time Class 1 HGV Driver for a Day run. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods to Preston Monday to Friday. this would be an afternoon run and flexible start and finish times are a must for this roll.

Duties

  • Conduct pre-journey vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and report any issues promptly
  • Plan and follow the most efficient routes to meet delivery schedules
  • Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and delivery records
  • Adhere strictly to all legal driving hours and tachograph regulations
  • Assist with loading and unloading as required, ensuring safe handling of cargo
  • Follow all health and safety procedures to minimise risks during operations

Skills

  • Proven experience in commercial driving.
  • Strong understanding of road safety regulations and compliance requirements for HGV drivers
  • Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
  • Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, demonstrating reliability and punctuality
  • Ability to plan routes effectively and adapt to changing schedules or conditions
  • Good organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and load securing
