Class 1 Driver

Location: Shepton Mallet, Pallet Networks
Shift: Monday - Friday, Nights

About the Role

As a Class 1 Driver, you will:

• Use curtain side trailer to trunk palletised goods from our Shepton Mallet depot to Pallet Networks hubs in the West Midlands and reload back to Shepton Mallet.
• You may also be required to cover internal trunking and verify freight against the manifest during each depot stop.
• Chance to gain LST and ADR certification during employment.
• Ensure goods are loaded and secured correctly to prevent shifting or damage. Use straps, nets, and other securing devices as needed.
• Perform comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using your company phone to maintain top-notch vehicle safety and reliability.
• Stay in regular communication with the transport team to provide updates on your progress and ensure our customers' expectations are met.
• Participate in regular training sessions to stay ahead with the latest industry standards and best practices.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Passionate about providing excellent customer service.
• Ability to work to deadlines.
• Confident, polite, and a team player.
• Good geographical knowledge.
• Fit, flexible, hardworking, and self-motivated.
