About the Role:

We are working with a highly regarded specialist secondary school in Richmond supporting pupils with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), alongside Autism (ASC), ADHD, sensory and SEMH needs.

The school is seeking an enthusiastic and committed SEN Teacher (KS3/KS4) to deliver a personalised, engaging curriculum that supports both academic progress and pupils' communication, independence and wellbeing.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a multi-disciplinary team, working closely with therapists and support staff to provide a truly holistic approach to education.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver highly differentiated, engaging lessons tailored to individual needs

Teach pupils with SLCN, ASC, ADHD, sensory and SEMH needs

Develop and implement EHCP outcomes, tracking progress effectively

Use a range of communication strategies and approaches to support learning

Lead a class team, including Teaching Assistants and support staff

Work collaboratively with Speech & Language Therapists and other professionals

Promote independence, confidence and life skills development

Create a safe, structured and stimulating learning environment

Contribute to curriculum development and whole-school improvement

The Ideal Candidate

Holds QTS / QTLS

Strong understanding of SLCN, Autism, ADHD and associated needs

Confident in delivering personalised and differentiated learning

Strong behaviour management and ability to create a positive classroom environment

Passionate about supporting pupils' communication and independence

Excellent teamwork and communication skills

Desirable

Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team (e.g. therapists)

Knowledge of communication strategies (e.g. visual support, structured approaches)

Experience leading or developing a curriculum subject area

Familiarity with EHCP reviews and specialist settings
