The Classroom Assistant role has opportunities for both short-term and long-term assignments, with immediate starts available.
About the Role
The ideal Classroom Assistant will be supportive and engaging, helping to create a positive learning environment. You will assist teachers in supervising classroom activities, supporting pupils during lessons, and helping children with additional needs. Your responsibilities may also include preparing classroom displays, supervising group activities, and supporting children on trips.
Our partner schools are inclusive and welcoming environments that value teamwork, safeguarding, and developmental support. A background in working with children in settings such as schools or nurseries, along with current DBS clearance, is essential. The role offers the opportunity to work in diverse classrooms, supporting children of different ages and needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting and supervising educational games, sports, and craft activities
* Assisting children with reading and literacy activities
* Preparing classrooms for lessons and classroom displays
* Supporting children with additional needs on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
* Supervising activities both in and outside the classroom
* Helping with school trips and events
* Assisting with behaviour management and classroom organisation
Key Requirements
* Minimum of 3 months of experience working with children in a school, nursery, or similar environment
* References covering the last two years (no gaps)
* Current DBS check on the update service or willingness to apply
* Right to work in the UK
Qualifications & Skills
* Knowledge of safeguarding protocols and educational standards
* Ability to adapt to different classroom environments
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Previous experience with SEN, EBD, or behavioural support is an advantage
