Part-Time School Cleaner - Job Description

Location: Shoreham

Hours: Part-time 3pm to 6pm Monday to Friday

Contract: Temporary

Overview

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Part‑Time Cleaner to join a friendly school environment. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the school to ensure a safe, welcoming space for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

Clean classrooms, corridors, offices, toilets, and communal areas to a high standard.
Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and wiping surfaces.
Emptying bins and managing waste disposal safely.
Replenishing hygiene supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet roll.
Ensuring cleaning equipment is used safely and stored correctly.
Reporting any maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly.
Adhering to all school safeguarding, security, and health & safety procedures.
Ensuring all work areas are ready before the next school day/session.

Skills & Experience Required

Previous cleaning experience preferred, ideally within a school or similar setting.
Good understanding of cleaning techniques, materials, and equipment.
Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Reliability and punctuality are essential.
Must be comfortable working around children and staff.
