As a Business Developer you\'ll identify new business opportunities in order to generate revenue, improve profitability and help the business grow. Your work will involve careful strategic planning and positioning in the appropriate markets, enhancing the operation of the business and our positioning in the market. The role, reporting to VP Business Development, will be part of a growing team.We are looking for Business Developers with a track record of consultative sales with Ophthalmology Pharma, Biotech, Real World Evidence and/or Clinical Research Organizations (CROs). You will be an independent thinker, a self starter comfortable with ambiguity and a results oriented problem solver.This role is pivotal in scaling our business development efforts.ResponsibilitiesHave a good understanding of the RetinAI / Ikerain current and evolving portfolio of products and services and be able to advise others about themResearch and identify targets in the segments we are interested in (Pharma, Biotech and CROs focused on eye care)Identify and seek out appropriate contacts in target organizations, leveraging publicly available sources and personal networksGenerate leads and cold call prospective customersMeet with prospects and customers face to face or over the phoneDevelop compelling pitches based on analysis of the organization and potential customer needsFoster and develop relationships with prospects and customersUnderstand the needs of potential customers and respond effectively with a plan to meet themThink strategically - set aims and objectives to develop and improve the business, and identify new opportunities in target markets and adjacent segmentsWork strategically - plan and implement changes with cross-functional teams (Customer Success, Research, Marketing, Product, Operations)Draw up client contracts with relevant internal teams (operations and legal)Support onboarding of new customers with Customer Success and broader team to ensure a successful start and transition to account managementManage and grow accounts from project to projectRequirementsDemonstrated entrepreneurial and collaborative mindsetBachelor\'s degree ideally in life sciences, computer science or related field; PhD / MBA a plus5+ years of experience in business development, management consulting, or other customer-facing role; experience in scale-up environments a plusProven track record of consultative sales with Ophthalmology Pharma, Biotech, MedTech and/or Clinical Research Organizations (CROs)Tech savvy with experience in digital health or health ITExperience working with cross-functional teams (sales, marketing, development)Experience with complex, multi-divisional, multi-geographical customers; healthcare environments a plusStrong interpersonal skills with executive presence and communication abilitiesTenacity and drive to seek new business and meet/exceed targetsTechnical aptitude and ability to learnAbility to create structure in ambiguous situations and design effective processesDrive for action and passion for technology and customer successSkillsStrategic thinkingNegotiationSales analytics and reportingFlexible, adaptable in a fast-paced environmentInitiative and ability to start from scratchProject management and organizational skillsTeam collaboration and ability to work independentlyExperience with Customer Relationship Management software such as HubspotBenefitsOpportunity to be part of an exceptional team driving healthcare innovationCompetitive salary in a supportive environment that promotes work-life balanceProfessional growth and development in an international settingCulture of collaboration and inclusionOccasional travel to our HQ in Switzerland
