You’ll handle cases proactively, with a client-focused and commercially aware approach, working collaboratively with talented colleagues to achieve outstanding outcomes for clients.


Key Responsibilities:


Accountable for


  • Managing an individual caseload of clinical negligence claims
  • Providing support, guidance, and assistance to the wider team to deliver outstanding client service
  • Contributing to proactive and commercial case management and progression across the team
  • Supporting senior colleagues in achieving financial and performance KPIs
  • Ensuring effective and accurate time recording


Responsible for


  • Discussing and agreeing case tactics and strategy with senior team members
  • Identifying and progressing cases ready for Letter of Claim, settlement, or service
  • Collecting and collating information to support case progression
  • Managing cases in a proactive, commercial, and client-focused manner
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to move cases forward
  • Drafting legal documentation including Letters of Claim and instructions to experts and counsel
  • Negotiating settlements and issuing/serving proceedings where appropriate
  • Handling litigation where required
  • Reviewing and overseeing team correspondence and documentation
  • Providing technical guidance and advice to junior team members


About You:


  • 5+ years PQE (or equivalent experience) in Clinical Negligence
  • Proven experience managing a clinical negligence caseload
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and drafting skills
  • Strong IT proficiency (including Microsoft Office and case management systems)
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commercial awareness
  • Ability to mentor and support junior colleagues
  • Flexible, proactive, and committed to achieving results and meeting deadlines
  • Excellent client care and interpersonal skills
