Solicitor – Medical Negligence

Location: Manchester

Level: Grade B / Grade C (or equivalent experience)

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Grade B and Grade C qualified Solicitors (or equivalent) to join a growing Medical Negligence team.

This role offers the chance to manage your own caseload of medical negligence claims from start to finish, while working closely with clients, medical experts and Counsel to achieve the best possible outcomes. There is also scope to become involved in larger group actions and high-profile cases, working alongside highly experienced senior colleagues.


Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a full caseload of medical negligence claims autonomously
  • Working closely with clients, medical experts and Counsel throughout the lifecycle of a claim
  • Analysing and interpreting complex medical evidence
  • Ensuring compliance with the Pre-Action Protocol for Clinical Disputes and the CPR
  • Delivering a high standard of client care with empathy and professionalism
  • Opportunities to assist on complex, high-value and group action litigation


About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience handling medical negligence matters
  • A strong understanding of the Pre-Action Protocol for Clinical Disputes and Civil Procedure Rules
  • Experience using case management systems (Proclaim preferred but not essential)
  • A compassionate, client-focused approach

  • Law Society Clinical Negligence Panel membership
  • APIL membership
