The Clinical Practice Safety Lead is responsible for driving continuous improvement in clinical safety and supporting the advancement of the Professional Practice Model across the ministry. This position serves as a ministry-level expert in clinical safety technologies, processes, evidence-based practice, and data, with oversight of key nursing-sensitive outcomes such as falls, CAUTI, CLABSI, pressure injuries, SSIs, glucometrics, medication safety, and workplace safety.
Reporting within the nursing structures, the Clinical Practice Safety Lead collaborates closely with Professional Practice teams, Nursing Leadership, and interprofessional quality and safety partners. The role supports the design, optimization, and monitoring of safe clinical practice environments and ensures alignment with the professional practice model principles of exemplary professional practice, transformational leadership, new knowledge/innovation, and structural empowerment through standardization.
Position Details:
Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing or other relevant clinical discipline.
Licensure: Relevant clinical license.
Experience: 6-8 years healthcare related experience with experience with data trends and data management.
Other: Advanced knowledge and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, MS ACCESS, PowerPoint.
Able to format and create reports based on data extraction and analysis.
Must have exceptional communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
Ability to travel at least once a month for 1-2 days to visit mercy communities.
Knowledge & ability to learn commonly used drugs and IV device technology.
Education: Advanced degree (master's degree or above).
Experience: Experience in quality and process improvement, working knowledge in biostatistics.
