Role overview As a Cloud FinOps Analyst you will support the financial management and optimisation of cloud resources, initially focusing on Azure. The role involves collecting, analysing and reporting on cloud cost data to ensure transparency, accountability and cost efficiency across teams. You will work closely with finance, engineering and operations, tracking usage patterns, identifying cost‑saving opportunities and supporting budgeting and forecasting efforts. Key responsibilities
Track and report on cloud spend across platforms, providing usage summaries and variance analysis. Identify opportunities by analysing usage patterns and generating data to support optimisation activities. Contribute to the development and execution of FinOps processes, aligning with ITSM workflows and change management practices. Assist in cloud cost reporting, forecasting and budgeting by preparing historical spend reports and usage trend analysis. Monitor policy compliance related to cloud usage and cost control.
What you’ll bring to the role We are looking for someone with strong FinOps knowledge and a proven track record of executing those practices. The role requires excellent data analysis and reporting skills, and the ability to make actionable recommendations based on that data. You must have experience in a similar role within a complex organisation, strong communication skills, and a keen eye for detail and judgement. Key skills required
Proven experience within the FinOps space, ideally in a financial services environment. Excellent cloud experience, particularly with Azure and AWS. Reporting skills to provide updates and analysis for stakeholders. Experience creating and maintaining PowerBI & Grafana dashboards. Excellent attention to detail and evaluative judgement based on best practice. Ability to coordinate and direct efforts, ensuring high‑quality standards and timely delivery.
